Hello welcome to our Current Events Page. Enjoy!!! friends & family links Please visit us at our new site March-22-08 under construction last Easter with Ana We're happy that we get to play outside The bikes are coming out March-17-08 We had a fun weekend celebrating Ethan's birthday and an early Easter. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUNCHKIN! March 10, 2008 I've been working on my other blog www.graceteaphoto.blogspot.com and the kids are enjoying the sunshine. Daniel is hating on school right now. But it's almost over. March 3, 2008 A whole lot of pictures! The kids right before church Sporting her cute Thai outfit from Grandma Helping fold laundry? Getting ready to take Ethan on a bike ride around the block. Feb. 23/08 Just some of our latest happenings: Crime scene? No...Refugee Camp? Yes Last Thursday night our circle and some of the other neighbors were evacuated due to a gas leak. The leak had apparently been there for years. So we were refugees til about 2:30 the next day. But all is well and the house was not leveled.
What a little "ar-tiist" we are seeing the signs of spring and were even able to go on a couple of walks some pre-school friends-TJ and Qwynn Due to the gas leak we had to pospone our play date, sorry girls. I'll call you. Feb. 16/08 A PEEK from our WEEK Last night after dinner, we went to COSTCO not to shop but to walk. We loaded the kids up in their strollers and we did laps around the store. It was freezing last night so it was nice to have a place to walk. Weekend here we come! DJ and the girls came over to play. We got a great workout pulling the kids on the sled. After a while I would ask who was dragging their feet. Who knew kids who eat like birds could weigh so much. DJ and I got to have fun too( that's DJ in the next pic). Hot cocoa to warm us up (notice Kaylas head tilt-it's automatic when she knows her picture is being taken-what a hoot) I told Janice I would post this: Ethan loves getting mail and grandma and grandpa are traveling in Australia and sent him this postcard which he insisted he sleep with for a couple of days. It was cute. Ethan loves play dates with his friends so come over Daniel and I decided that when we get old we'd get dope walkers like Ingrids'(DI $2) She also loves her little bike (DI $1.50) but she only scoots backwards Bath time with Daddy

Okay, many of you know about my love/hate relationship with bangs. Right now we are getting along. We'll see. just for fun: my brother told me about google maps, not google earth. We put in my address with the zip code and it shows a virtual tour of our neighborhood. I showed Ethan how we would walk to preschool if it wasn't so dang cold. Try your address. It's pretty awesome and weird that that's out there in cyberspace. Feb. 6/08 Well, we've had alot of snow lately so besides playing in our winter wonderland, Ethan has aquired some computer gaming skills. He thinks it's fun and is so proud of himself. He makes Daniel sit and watch him (thank you to the Browns for the hand me down CDs) They play "nice" most of the time It's so pleasant to see her sleeping. Evan and Daniel went up to Brighton for some night skiing
My Friend Tami and her kids were visiting from Maryland. We were telling the kids we were in 2nd grade when we became friends not too much older than the kids Jan 27/08 Daniel built this "Tower of Doom" on Saturday and one of our neighbor kids sled down the hill off our lawn and onto the side walk, luckily he handed on this feet. It's about a 4 foot drop. The real Mr. Tea Ethan had a mohawk for a couple of days
Ingrid at her last Dr. appointment. Ethan was a great help, saying " You're OK baabee"

His Fhara Faucet "do"
Ethan built that house all by himself and calls the "thing" on the bottom an owl, cubism perhaps. We had a good storm on Martin Luther King Day and Daniel didn't have to go to school or work. Fajitas complements of Jason DJ got a steal on his "cool car"- Quoting Ethan Oreo's, what Oreo's Michelle's baby shower, where she threatened people with death if they took a picture of her (she's behind me) Horse play baby update: Ingrid has 5 teeth crawls and pulls herself up loves to mimmick sounds addicted to cheerios and loves long walks on the beach Happy New Year!! Jan. 01/08 We had a good couple of days. Over the weekend we got to say hi and bye to Uncle Jason ( good luck in San Fran!) Daniel had a short work week and was able to go skiing with Evan while I went with my family to the Discovery Gateway. All the kids had a blast. We were there almost three hours! Ethan of course did not want to leave. New Years Eve we went to our friends, the Mercers, to hang out with friends and then headed to my cousin Janis' place for a couple of hours. The kids were getting bored so we pulled out the twister. We spent the rest of the night at home and noticed the neighbors setting off fireworks and another set their Christmas tree a flame in their yard, it was crazy how huge the fire ball got! For some reason it reminded me of the Grizwalds Christmas Vacation movie. Anyway, we wish you all the best in the new year! at the Discovery Gateway (this was his favorite part!)
Makayla and Allison doing the weather report Dec 28/07 We hope you all had a good Christmas It was 23 degrees out when we went swimming at the rec center. Christmas morning Uncle Evan came over to open presents from Santa with us and Daniel cooked a wonderful breakfast. Then we played in the snow. Later the kids went off to Lola's house while we all went to see I AM LEGEND (good movie by the way!).
It was fun to teach the kids about the First christmas night
Evan's camera from mom and dad Ethan loves his new dump truck from Uncle Evan, so does Ingrid
we get a Christmas book every year, this year we got these We spent Christmas Eve (Noche Buena) at Lola's house, she had lots of good filipino food and presents under the tree.
Uncle DJ and the girls Lola had all the kids dancing watching A Christmas Story
Christmas classics The Smith Family Dinner (Sunday) was at the Browns this year. It was good to visit with everyone.
Great Grandma Smith Friday, the kids and I visited Daniel at work. He showed us around and we listened to a brass band and admired all the christmas decorations.
the great and spacious building Dec. 17/07 Christmas past...Christmas present: I love seeing pictures of our kids when they were smaller and seeing how much they have changed. I hope they look back at those pictures and smile and reminis about good times growing up. christmas 2005 Founders Park Lights: If you want to beat the crowds and actually let your kids run around without getting lost or trampled go to founders park in Centerville Daniel the Teckie: Daniel joined the tech world when he started his new job. They gave him a blackberry with a cool ear piece and he decided he wanted an ipod nano to use on the bus (not that he didn't like the bus posse-they had good stories to tell). This is a big deal in our family since I got a cell phone only last year and only because one of my tires had blown out on the freeway. I get text messages from friends and family, but seriously I don't know how to retrive them or text back. So don't text me. Choo Choo Train: Santa will be a big hit this year! He will be delivering Grandma and Grandpa's gift for them. If you ask Ethan what Santa is going to bring him he will say, "cars...choo choo train!" He loves going to my moms' house and watch her train go around and around her christmas tree ALL night long. I can't wait till Christmas morning because he will LOVE IT!!! Santa Party: Kalleen and Tami had their annual brunch with Santa on Saturday and they are so cute to do this for all the kids. This year Santa did plump up a bit (their little brother John was usually Santa) and he brought Mrs. Claus. Ethan loved what Santa had put in his stocking and looking over his loot with the other kids. the kids sang and listened to Santa
Ward Party: I've been battling a cold for quite some time now and I have the germ factories to thank for that. These were the sickies after the ward party. Not too happy to pose for mom. They spent the afternoon at Jennies' (our nieghbor- her kids were sick too) while I helped set up for the festivities. Santa and the madrigals would be there and a yummy dinner catered by the Wight House. We stayed for dinner but took the kids home before they could spread their Christmas germs with Santa. (Thanks mom for the christmas outfits!) The Kite Runner:
Over the weekend I read The Kite Runner I highly recommend it.Daniel is now reading it so I don't want to give anything away. Dec. 02/07 Things from our week Well, Daniel survived his first week at his new job. He had great adventures taking the bus. And it looks like he will live. He's a busy guy with school, work, family and church. We are all looking forward to his time off from school for a few weeks. |
