Just some of our latest happenings:

Crime scene? No...Refugee Camp? Yes
Last Thursday night our circle and some of the other neighbors were evacuated due to a gas leak. The leak had apparently been there for years. So we were refugees til  about 2:30 the next day. But all is well and the house was not leveled.

What a little "ar-tiist"

we are seeing the signs of spring and were even able to go on a couple of walks

  some pre-school friends-TJ and Qwynn

Due to the gas leak we had to pospone our play date, sorry girls. I'll call you.

A PEEK from our WEEK

Last night after dinner, we went to COSTCO not to shop but to walk. We loaded the kids up in their strollers and we did laps around the store. It was freezing last night so it was nice to have a place to walk. Weekend here we come!
DJ and the girls came over to play. We got a great workout pulling the kids on the sled. After a while I would ask who was dragging their feet. Who knew kids who eat like birds could weigh so much. DJ and I got to have fun too( that's DJ in the next pic).

Hot cocoa to warm us up
(notice Kaylas head tilt-it's automatic when she knows her picture is being taken-what a hoot)
I told Janice I would post this: Ethan loves getting mail and grandma and grandpa are traveling in Australia and sent him this postcard which he insisted he sleep with for a couple of days. It was cute.
Ethan loves play dates with his friends so come over
Daniel and I decided that when we get old we'd get dope walkers like Ingrids'(DI $2)
She also loves her little bike (DI $1.50) but she only scoots backwards
Bath time with Daddy

Okay, many of you know about my love/hate relationship with bangs. Right now we are getting along. We'll see.

just for fun: my brother told me about google maps, not google earth. We put in my address with the zip code and it shows a virtual tour of our neighborhood. I showed Ethan how we would walk to preschool if it wasn't so dang cold. Try your address. It's pretty awesome and weird that that's out there in cyberspace.

Feb. 6/08
Well, we've had alot of snow lately so besides playing in our winter wonderland, Ethan has aquired some computer gaming skills. He thinks it's fun and is so proud of himself. He makes Daniel sit and watch him (thank you to the Browns for the hand me down CDs)
They play "nice" most of the time
It's so pleasant to see her sleeping.

Evan and Daniel went up to Brighton for some night skiing

My Friend Tami and her kids were visiting from Maryland. We were telling the kids we were in

2nd grade when we became friends not too much older than the kids

 Jan 27/08
Daniel built this "Tower of Doom" on Saturday and one of our neighbor kids sled down the hill off our lawn and onto the side walk, luckily he handed on this feet. It's about a 4 foot drop.

Happy New Year!!
Jan. 01/08
We had a good couple of days. Over the weekend we got to say hi and bye to Uncle Jason ( good luck in San Fran!) Daniel had a short work week and was able to go skiing with Evan while I went with my family to the Discovery Gateway. All the kids had a blast. We were there almost three hours! Ethan of course did not want to leave.

New Years Eve we went to our friends, the Mercers, to hang out with friends and then headed to my cousin Janis' place for a couple of hours. The kids were getting bored so we pulled out the twister. We spent the rest of the night at home and noticed the neighbors setting off fireworks and another set their Christmas tree a flame in their yard, it was crazy how huge the fire ball got! For some reason it reminded me of the Grizwalds Christmas Vacation movie. Anyway, we wish you all the best in the new year!

We hope you all had a good Christmas

It was 23 degrees out when we went swimming at the rec center.

Christmas morning Uncle Evan came over to open presents from Santa with us and Daniel cooked a wonderful breakfast. Then we played in the snow. Later the kids went off to Lola's house while we all went to see I AM LEGEND (good movie by the way!).

It was fun to teach the kids about the First christmas night

Ethan loves his new dump truck from Uncle Evan, so does Ingrid

we get a Christmas book every  year, this year we got these

Great Grandma Smith

Friday, the kids and I visited Daniel at work.  He showed us around and we listened to a brass band and admired all the christmas decorations.

Christmas past...Christmas present:
I love seeing pictures of our kids when they were smaller and seeing how much they have changed. I hope they look back at those pictures and smile and reminis about good times growing up.
 christmas 2005

Founders Park Lights:
If you want to beat the crowds and actually let your kids run around without getting lost or trampled go to founders park in Centerville

Daniel the Teckie:
Daniel joined the tech world when he started his new job. They gave him a blackberry with a cool ear piece and he decided  he wanted an ipod nano to use on the bus (not that he didn't like the bus posse-they had good stories to tell). This is a big deal in our family since I got a cell phone only last year and only because one of my tires had blown out on the freeway. I get text messages from friends and family, but seriously I don't know how to retrive them or text back. So don't text me.

Choo Choo Train:
Santa will be a big hit this year! He will be delivering Grandma and Grandpa's gift for them. If you ask Ethan what Santa is going to bring him he will say, "cars...choo choo train!" He loves going to my moms' house and watch her train go around and around her christmas tree ALL night long. I can't wait till Christmas morning because he will LOVE IT!!!

Santa Party:
Kalleen and Tami had their annual brunch with Santa on Saturday and they are so cute to do this for all the kids. This year Santa did plump up a bit (their little brother John was usually Santa) and he brought Mrs. Claus. Ethan loved what Santa had put in his stocking and looking over his loot with the other kids.

the kids sang and listened to Santa

Ward Party:
I've been battling a cold for quite some time now and I have the germ factories to thank for that. These were the sickies after the ward party. Not too happy to pose for mom. They spent the afternoon at Jennies' (our nieghbor- her kids were sick too) while I helped set up for the festivities. Santa and the madrigals would be there and a yummy dinner catered by the Wight House. We stayed for dinner but took the kids home before they could spread their Christmas germs with Santa. (Thanks mom for the christmas outfits!)

The Kite Runner:

Over the weekend I read The Kite Runner I highly recommend it.Daniel is now reading it so I don't want to give anything away.

Things from our week
Well, Daniel survived his first week at his new job. He had great adventures taking the bus. And it looks like he will live. He's a busy guy with school, work,  family and church. We are all looking forward to his time off from school for a few weeks.

The first BIG snowstorm and the neighborhood kids got together to build a snowman in our yard. They had so much fun.

just watching the fun and staying warm

These were our favorites at the Festival of Trees,

The Polar Express tree and Dr. Seuss tree

We went there to listen to Audra and Allison play the piano and to watch
Allison and Makayla perform with their dance groups. They were so cute!

Daniel and I love his new shirt "I still live with my parents"
He also has one that reads: " I do all my own stunts," which he does!

Our attemp to bring good cheer to passer byers (is that a word?) Atleast the kids like it.

Good luck Baby!

Daniel got a promotion and starts Monday morning. So I just wanted to say good luck. and I'm proud of you!

It's officially Christmas at our House!
We had fun decorating for the holidays this weekend. Altough there is no snow in sight, the kids and I are looking forward to Kalleen and Tami's Santa Party. You guys always are so nice to have everyone take over your place. You're the best! Daniel and I are excited for Christmas simply because our kids are getting older and are more "into" Christmas. And we look forward to  having our own family traditions.

I love after season stuff. I'm starting a list of things I want to look for after Christmas!

We had a good Thanksgiving with family. We started the day visiting with Daniel's grandmother at her home then headed over to my Dad's to say hello. We finally made it to my Mom's place for some good food and good company. I guess I'm a home body because it's always so nice to be home with Daniel and the kids.

Lola's turkey!

Cousins: It's fun to see our kids run around and play together like when we were little kids in the Philippines.

I've been tagged!...

(This was at my friend Ann Marie's wedding. Congratulations!!)

I've been tagged (Twice as a matter of fact. Does that mean I have double the curses or does it cancel out my curse?) and I'm suppose to say seven things about myself then tag seven people. I don't know that many people that blog that haven't been tagged, so I've tried to recruit some bloggers.

1. I'm in the Twilight Zone. Daniel's mom let me read her copy of Twilight and now I'm on the last one. I really haven't gotten into reading lately other than magazines or the ocassional short story. I get really disappointed if I invest time in a book and it turns out to be just okay. So I love this series because I know enough people that like it. I have some actors in mind if this ever becomes a movie (I'll try to post that later).

2. I'm a neat freak AND closet slob (I have't come out yet, I guess this is it). I have to have everything in its' esthetically pleasing place, (pillows, pictures, and if my kids aren't playing-their toys). It's beyond this but I don't want to expose too much of my OC. Beds have to be made just right so it looks nice when I walk by, clothes off the floor and put away. That's where it turns scary. I'm really a messy slob! My closets, drawers and cupboards are a disaster. If I don't see it, it's not that bad... right? I also for some reason hate folding laundry. I'll have mounds and mounds to fold but will keep putting it off because by then it has grown to be a monumental task, like facing a big hairy monster. My sweet husband knows this and just saved the day and did all the folding ( I think he was tired of hunting for his clothes).

3. My husband, the hair dresser. The first time he cut my hair was about five years ago and I made him do it (because I didn't want to pay someone to take something that belonged to me in the first place). He was sweating bullets because he was afraid of messing up. Now he's a pro! This summer I did go to a salon though to get 14" cut off so they could donate it to Locks of Love.

4. I love a good bargain! My secret pleasures are the DI, dollar stores, Target clearance or anything clearance. I buy everything after season 75%, 80% and 90% off. I guess that just makes me cheap!

5. I love preschool! I'm not in preschool of course but my son is. His speech and vocabulary is expanding and he loves being with his friends. But I love it because I get to grocery shop in peace! We've had a few "incidents" at the store (my son locked himself and his baby sister in the car and I had to call the police and we've had a million meltdowns). I also love preschool because I get one on one time with my daughter.

6.Daniel tells me I'm the skinniest out of shape person. I can eat anything I want ( good for me cause I love sweets!) and not excercise.

7.We want to retire at 40;)! We want to build our "empire" and just travel around the world. Five places I still want to see (there's more).
Venice
The Great Wall
The Pyramids
Rome (everywhere)
Taj Mahal

Nov. 11/07
Okay, I was telling Daniel that he has to watch UGLY BETTY. (If you saw last weeks episode when Amanda sings "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard", you'll know what I'm talking about!)But he has class most nights or is doing homework. So when the kiddies are asleep or winding down, I indulge in a little UGLY BETTY (luckily I don't have any church responsiblilities most Thursdays). I have a story, this is sad but true. I have some pictures of my last pregnancy, when I had long hair, harsh bangs and wore my black rimmed glasses. I'll think about posting them, but most likey not. Anyway, the sad thing was my son saw Ugly Betty on TV,pointed and said Mama. (That is when I decided I needed a mommy makeover!!!)I also like but don't always have time to watch PUSHING DAISIES, CHUCK,THE OFFICE, and SCRUBS.

Did you know you can watch episodes online? I went to http://abc.go.com/primetime/uglybetty/index.html
to show Daniel a clip.

Nov. 08/07
We had a fun but rare date night without the kids. My mom watched the babies while Daniel and I went to Sawadee, a Thai restaurant (my new favorite spot! www.sawadee1.com ) and then headed to a Jazz game. I was happy just being with Daniel.

These were my thanksgiving crafts .I got the pumpkins 75% off after Halloween! I love a good bargain!!

I downed these two carameled apples from Daniel and my Mom. I'm so weak. These were both from V Chocolates( www.vchocolates.com)
